Northwestern University (Evanston), University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), University of Illinois (Urbana - Champaign). Those are the "big 3." M.I.T and John Hopkins University are my "probably not going to get into" schools, but I'll try (because it never hurts). I had a horrid "rough patch" sophomore year and that dropped my class rank and GPA quite a bit (to the point where, even though I said it didn't reflect me properly, the AP Psychology teacher at my school wouldn't let me override Psychology 1). A class rank of 50-60% (I think that's how you read it) and a GPA of 3.2 - will colleges see this and look over it? PS: I am an all honors and Advance Placement student, so don't assume that I'm an average Joe trying to get into M.I.T. We all know what assuming makes you look like :) Cochise, not to sound like an a-hole, but that honestly sounds like you're saying "Only really try to get into the colleges that you feel will take you." I want a challenge. Harvard and M.I.T. might be out of my reach, but even if Northwestern is on the damn tip of my finger, I'll reach that much more to get in. Thank you for the links, though. So it's not that big of a deal then. Sweet.... Read More »
